Undergraduate Course Transfer into Bachelor of Business
Current UTS students applying for a transfer into the Bachelor of Business are advised to take note of the Criteria and Application Procedure for Internal Course Transfer.
Business School Specific Information
- All UTS students must refer to the SAU: Internal Course Transfer Information webpage here, for continuing and graduating application information. Students should also contact the SCH for Business School specific information that may be required.
- Closing dates and outcomes of applications are outlined on the SAU webpage and administered by SAU.
- Postgraduate students may not apply for ICT: Continuing if enrolled in a Summer Session subjects. Exception may apply only for Undergraduate students.
- ICT: Graduating applications are processed from first available conferral date.
- Whilst there is NO provision for formal appeals in the ICT process, appeals may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students will be required to submit a statement outlining their concerns and extenuating circumstances to the Student Centre. The outcome of the review is final.
- Applications are assessed solely on academic merit and as places are limited, ICT applications will be assessed on a competitive basis.
Business School Specific Requirements
Undergraduate – Continuing
Application
- Local and International students must lodge their application via ICT: Continuing into the Bachelor of Business. It will only be accepted online via the SAU: Internal Course Transfer Information webpage.
- Students must meet one of the following criteria to apply via ICT: Continuing
- an undergraduate domestic student, wishing to withdraw from a part (non-Business) of a combined degree
- an undergraduate domestic student transferring within the UTS Business School (example: B. Management courses to B. Bus or B. Bus KG to B. Bus City)
- an undergraduate domestic student, wishing to add or delete BA International Studies
- an international undergraduate student
- Students wishing to add Bachelor of Business to a single (non-Business) degree are required to lodge an application through UAC.
Eligibility
- Applications of ICT are assessed on academic merit. Places are limited and as a result, admission is competitive and is based on achievement in the course the applicant wishes to transfer from or the UAI achieved.
- An applicant must have completed a minimum of 48 credit points (equivalent to one year of full time study). Exemptions, credit recognition or credit transfers do not count towards the 48 credit points. Note: Students from B. Business may transfer to B. Bus/B. Arts, after completing 24 credit points.
- To be considered, an applicant must have achieved a minimum WAM of at least 65 for all subjects completed under the current course at UTS.
- The University’s WAM calculation includes failed results.
Undergraduate – Graduating
Application
- Students in combined degrees should normally graduate from their combined degree at one ceremony, though receiving two testamurs.
- Local and International students who wish to graduate with the Bachelor of Business only, from a combined degree must lodge their application by using the UTS form that can be downloaded here (PDF. 184kb, 4 pages).
Eligibility
- Students who are successful in transferring to the single Bachelor of Business degree must satisfy the academic and credit points requirements of the Bachelor of Business, which are:
- 48 credit points comprising the Business Core subjects
- 48 credit points comprising a first Business Major subjects
- 48 credit points comprising either a second Business Major; or 2 sub-majors; or 1 Sub-major and 4 electives
