General Information

• Students must submit their applications upon admission. All Credit Recognition must be finalised before the end of the first semester of the course. Credit Recognition does not guarantee or imply automatic admission into UTS Business School courses. Credit Recognition indicates what exemptions may apply if an applicant is successful in obtaining a place, by meeting the relevant selection criteria for a course as approved by Academic Board.

• Prospective students from the listed educational institutions who apply for block Credit Recognition, must have completed their previous course no more than five (5) years prior to admission into UTS Business School courses.

• For students who have completed previous studies from other universities, you must have completed that subject no more than 10 years prior to admission into UTS Business School courses.

• The maximum amount of Credit Recognition allowed for all Business undergraduate courses, subject to the Business School's approval, is two thirds of the total course credit point requirements.

• To have a UTS extended major, major and/or sub-major listed on an academic transcript, the student may be allowed the following:

• For an extended major: The maximum amount of Credit Recognition allowed is 24 credit points or four (4) subjects.

• For a major: The maximum amount of Credit Recognition allowed is 24 credit points or four (4) subjects.

• For a sub-major: The maximum amount of Credit Recognition allowed is six (6) credit points or one (1) subject.

• Only Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses (or equivalent) will be evaluated. Certificate and Associate Diploma courses will not be considered. Overseas institutions courses will be evaluated by UTS International in first instance. 

• As a guide for prospective students:

• For business related Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas, students may be eligible for a maximum of eight subjects (48 credit points) of credit recognition.  This is subject to final approval by the Business School's Credit Recognition Committee.

• For Admission, domestic students should apply through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC).  International students should apply through UTS International.

• UTS Business School reserves the right to cancel or vary the Credit Recognition arrangements at any time.
