Federation fellowship

Internationally renowned economist Professor Michael Keane, a world leader in labour economics and econometric/statistical modelling research, was awarded a Federation Fellowship in 2006 to conduct research at UTS on major economic issues in health insurance, retirement planning and the adoption of new technologies.

Professor Keane began his 5 year Australian Research Council Federation Fellowship at UTS in 2006.

Professor Keane is a world leader in choice modelling, the statistical technique that involves developing mathematical models to predict how individuals or companies make different types of decisions.

Attracted to UTS because of the university's strength in financial economics, consumer choice-modelling and health economics, Professor Keane will work with UTS: Business in the Centre for the Study of Choice opens a UTSWeb sub-site, Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation opens a UTSWeb sub-site and the Quantitative Finance Research Centre opens a UTSWeb sub-site.
