Internal course transfer


The following information relates only to students currently studying postgrad at UTS Business who want to transfer to another UTS Business postgrad course.

Eligibility

See UTS:Internal Course Transfer Information for eligibility and online application process. Please note: Students CANNOT undertake Summer Session subjects if they wish to transfer between Spring and Autumn semesters.

Course Fees - all students who transfer will be liable for new course fees under the new course. Please check with UTS:Student Information Office.

Leave of Absence - Students transferring into a new course are NOT permitted to take leave of absence in their new course, they must first pass at least ONE subject in their new course.

How to Apply

Application for Internal Course Transfer is done online via UTS:Internal Course Transfer Information - there are two types of transfer, Internal Course Transfer (Continuing) and Internal Course Transfer (Graduating). Please contact the UTS:Student Centre Haymarket (postgraduate) to discuss your options before you apply.

Applications for Autumn Semester open in September and applications for Spring Semester open the previous May. Applications for Internal Course Transfer (Graduating) have no closing date - they can be lodged at any time during the semester prior to the semester they will be eligible to graduate.

Please note: the following documents must be submitted to the UTS:Student Centre Haymarket (postgraduate) immediately after you lodge your online application. Failure to submit any additional documents may result in your application being refused or delayed.

Transfer is not permitted from any existing UTS Business postgraduate program to the EMBA.

ALL other UTS Business Postgraduate Courses

Depending on existing entry requirements of course you want transfer to, you may need the following:

  • A cognate (course relevant) degree.
  • Resume and evidence of 2 years relevant work experience including certified copy of employer letter on company letterhead from either current or past employers confirming job title, job description and appointment period

Application outcomes

Outcomes of Internal Course Transfer applications are available in late January (for Autumn Semester start) and late July (for Spring Semester start) at UTS:Internal Course Transfer Offers.

The above link will be sent to students in their acknowledgement emails (when their application is received) and will be the only form of notification of outcome for students.

If students have been offered a place, they MUST accept or decline the offer online by the nominated date. Once accepted, students will be able to enrol into their new course via My Student Admin within 2 working days.

Please note: any subjects enrolled in in the previous course will be withdrawn so students MUST enrol again under the new course.
