The vast majority of large- and medium-sized international and local organisations use ERP software for financial accounting, and software giant SAP is the market leader both locally and overseas. Research has found that ERP software leads to a hybridisation of accounting tasks and skills through process and data integration:

  • Accountants in an ERP environment need to understand more about the interaction and integration of accounting and other business functions (and ERP components) than non-ERP accountants
  • Non-accountants in an ERP-environment increasingly have to understand and perform traditional accounting tasks
  • IT-specialists often have to understand the business/accounting logic of ERP to survive in an ERP environment.

Accounting with SAP ERP Training at UTS


UTS offers an intensive progressive program in Accounting with SAP ERP that equips participants with skills increasingly sought after in accounting and finance positions. Hands-on and practical, participants progress through a three-step tiered  training program that culminates in SAP Solution Consultant Certification in Financial Accounting with SAP ERP 2005, the "global passport" for consulting in SAP Financials.

Step 1: Certificate 1 in Accounting with SAP ERP

This course introduces participants to SAP ERP. It provides advanced skills in configuring and using the financial accounting components and assists in understanding the integration of accounting and other components in SAP ERP. Full program details

Step 2: Certificate 2 in Accounting with SAP ERP

The second arm of the course aims to provide advanced skills in SAP Financials, building upon the knowledge and skills obtained in the Certificate 1 in Accounting with SAP ERP. Full program details


Step 3: Certificate 3 in Accounting with SAP ERP

This program provides participants with final top-level skills in SAP ERP Financials, culminating in the SAP Consultant Certification exam in Financial Accounting. The three-hour exam is held at the head offices of SAP Australia, and scheduled approximately 2-3 weeks after course conclusion. Full program details
