The final conference program is now available for download here.
The SRE conference involves contributions from speakers with either ‘academic’ or ‘industry’ backgrounds. It thus provides space for theoretically informed debate as well as the practical insights and experiences of sport practitioners. The conference will take place over three days, commencing on the morning of Sunday 30 Nov and concluding late afternoon on Tuesday 2 Dec 2008. Monday 1 December is the key day for sport industry papers, while Tuesday afternoon is special as the Australian Human Rights Commission is staging a practitioner forum on “Sport and Cultural Diversity”. This stems from the AHRC report What’s the Score: Sport and Cultural Diversity in Australia (2007) and is intended to pursue developments and challenges within the sport industry with respect to questions of engagement and inclusion for people of varying backgrounds.
Presentations are expected to last no more than twenty minutes and will be followed immediately by 10 minutes of questions. A presentation guidelines document is available for download here. There will be opportunities to publish papers after the conference, the details of which can be found on the "Publications" page.
