The Economics Discipline Group is one of five discipline-based teaching and research groups within the UTS Business School. The Group offers courses in economics at the undergraduate, honours, masters and Ph.D. level.
In the first Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) evaluation undertaken by the Australian Research Council in 2010, UTS was the only university in NSW, and one of only two Australian universities, to be awarded the top rating of 5 in the field of Applied Economics. A score of 5 is characterised by evidence of outstanding performance well above world standard.
Part of the mission of the EDG is to build on our achievements to create an internationally significant program of research and graduate education in economics. More
