"A new initiative will allow Australian social entrepreneurs to connect with a wide range of resources."
Emeritus Professor, Leo Bartlett
In the US, the UK and Europe there are many training resources and programs, which social entrepreneurs can access for their professional development. In Australia almost the reverse is true. There are few universities offering courses that directly address social entrepreneurship - two exceptions being Macquarie University and Queensland University of Technology, where for the first time this year course units have been implemented in their MBA programs. Non-institutional providers offer a few disparate sessions that are largely unaccredited.
A new initiative will allow Australian social entrepreneurs to connect with a wide range of resources. The University Network for Social Entrepreneurship aims to be a global community of researchers, educators, practitioners, and related networks to advance research, teaching and action in social entrepreneurship. The end goal is to contribute towards building better understanding of social entrepreneurship.
Leo Bartlett from the Australasian Institute for Social Entrepreneurship (AISE) has been invited to join the Network's advisory council. Read more about University Network for Social Entrepreneurship and how you can help build the base-line data on Social Enterprise courses, links and research.
