During the Internships you will be working full-time at the offices of one of the Bachelor of Accounting sponsor organisations. That generally means from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Mondays to Fridays, for 5½ months. For most students, this will be their first experience of a full-time job.
On top of that, Bachelor of Accounting students also continue to study academic subjects for assessment at university. These might be special projects, which involve researching and formally presenting a major report on a topic of interest to the sponsor organisation. Other subjects are studied part-time during the Internships, which involves coming in to the university one night a week for normal classes.
Students are entitled to one half-day of study leave per week during the industry semesters, and this time should be dedicated to work on project subjects.
Read extracts from the diary of a typical student on Internship 1.
