Young Achievement Australia 2003

A dozen second-year Bachelor of Accounting students are making their mark on the UTS City Campus by selling their own line of youth street wear.

As part of the Young Achievement Australia Business Skills Program they have set up their own company, raised the required capital, and commenced manufacturing and marketing their product. The company is called Xcelsiya, and it consists of 18 undergraduate students from the Faculties of Business and IT. The group expects to make a handsome profit when the business is wound up at the end of this year, and will be donating a significant amount of it to the Starlight Foundation.

Through participating in YAA these students getting real-life experience of running their own business (with all the challenges that involves). What is more, they are adding something extra to the experience thanks to:
