The Australian Centre for Event Management aims to serve the research needs of the event industry by conducting an event research program that

• Identifies the research needs of the industry
• Identifies areas where these needs have not been met
• Undertakes specific research projects designed to meet these need
• Disseminates the results of this research through the resources of the Centre.

The Centre seeks partnerships with industry organisations to undertake suitable event research projects. It can bring to such projects university resources such as expertise in event research methodologies, supervised student researchers, and on occasions matching university funds. Through the conduct of such projects, the program will contribute to the overall body of knowledge associated with the conduct, management, impact and evaluation of events.
