Welcome to UTS: Business. I am pleased to present an overview of the many reasons to make UTS your "university of choice" for business.
UTS: Business is the largest faculty at UTS and one of the largest business schools in Australia. In joining us you will become part of a community of over 10,000 
full-time equivalent students, and an active global network of almost 50,000 alumni: graduates who are renowned for their knowledge and professional skills.
UTS: Business is ranked in the top 100 universities worldwide (Times Higher Education Supplement 2005) and in the top eight among 39 Australian Business and Law disciplines in the recent Melbourne University Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research Rankings (2006).
In 2008 we achieved accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and are now part of an elite group that makes up less than 10 per cent of the world's business schools. In 2008 we were also ranked in the top six Business and Economics faculties by the Australian Government Learning and Teaching Performance Fund.
We have a reputation for high quality educational programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, plus an extensive range of executive short courses. Courses are offered through five discipline-based teaching schools, and the Graduate School of Business administers all postgraduate courses and professional development programs.
Most lecturers hold doctorate qualifications and publish regularly, as well as continuing to practise in the professional world. With such a a high-calibre staff base, we also have an active research culture, with particular strengths represented through our research centres and groups. Our researchers have been successful in obtaining a number of prestigious grants. In 2007 we were ranked first for ARC Discovery Grants and fourth for ARC Linkage Grants across all Australian universities.
Our activities are guided by our Executive Council which provides high-level strategic advice, valuable links to key business, government and industry bodies, and ensures UTS: Business remains in the forefront of industry change.
